About This Project
The Creamery is located in Kennett Square, the mushroom capital of the world, in a building with a working past and a long history in the community. New owners had purchased it in 2011 and were partway through a major transformation with the goal of keeping what mattered about the original creamery, and updating everything else.
When they reached out to GP Furniture Makers, they needed a conference table for their new boardroom. The room was finished, the modern artwork was on the walls, and the request was that they wanted something classic enough to belong to the building's history but modern enough to belong to the room they'd just built.

About The Wood Selection
Walnut was selected for its depth, variation, and ability to bring warmth into a space without feeling heavy.
The slab was locally sourced in Pennsylvania, continuing a focus on regional materials and craftsmanship. Each piece we build starts with the wood itself, and this slab had the kind of natural movement and character that made it the right fit for this project.
The finish was kept natural to highlight the grain and variation, while still providing the durability needed for daily use.
