Custom Round Conference Tables For Executive & Collaborative Spaces

A round table changes how a room works. Without a head of the table, every seat carries equal weight, which is why round conference tables are a consistent choice for executive suites, partner offices, and smaller meeting rooms where the conversation matters as much as the furniture.

GP Furniture Makers builds round conference tables to your exact diameter in solid hardwood, wood veneer, quartz, or reclaimed wood. We work directly with architects, interior designers, and corporate clients on every project. 3D renderings and material samples are standard. The result is a table built for the room it will occupy, not pulled from a catalog.

Round looks simple. The construction isn't. Here's what goes into ours.

01

Diameter & Seating Count

Round tables are sized by diameter, not length. A 48″ top seats 4–5 comfortably; a 60″ seats 6; a 72″ seats 7–8. Larger diameters are available. We'll also confirm minimum room clearance — typically 30–36 inches from table edge to wall — before finalizing dimensions.

02

Bases & Pedestals

Central pedestal bases are the most common choice because they keep the floor plan clean and eliminate leg interference at the seating perimeter. We also build with architectural steel bases, turned or tapered solid wood legs, and custom fabricated options. Every base is proportioned to the diameter it supports.

03

Materials & Finishes

We build in solid domestic hardwood, wood veneer, quartz, and reclaimed wood. Commercial-grade conversion varnish is our standard finish for high-traffic environments. Custom stains and laminate options are available. Physical samples are sent before production and you approve the exact color before any wood is cut.

04

Edge Profiles & Surface Detail

On a round top, the edge is always visible. We offer a full range of profiles such as flat, eased, bullnose, waterfall, and custom. The edge is finished to the same standard as the surface. Inlay banding, contrast species borders, and decorative details are also available for tables where the top needs to make a statement.

A note on construction

Solid wood round tops are more structurally complex than rectangular ones. Wood moves with humidity primarily across its grain, and on a rectangular top that movement is predictable along a single axis. With round tops, the shape introduces short grain and varying grain exposure along the perimeter, which can create stress points if the top isn’t engineered correctly. We account for this through careful grain orientation, substrate selection, and attachment methods that allow for natural movement.

Veneer on round tops

Wood veneer is particularly well-suited to large round tops. A bookmatched veneer layout can be combined into radial or sunburst patterns, creating a symmetrical grain design that visually radiates across the entire surface. This is one of the few surface effects that truly benefits from a round format and is difficult to achieve in solid wood at the same scale without significant complexity or stability concerns.

Choosing the Right Diameter for Your Room

Round conference table sizing depends on two things: how many people need to sit at the table, and how much clearance your room allows. A general rule is 30–36 inches of clearance between the table edge and the wall or other furniture, enough for chairs to pull out and people to move around the table.

The guide below is a starting point. If your room has unusual proportions or your seating count falls between sizes, tell us — we design to fit the space and the people using it.

Diameter Comfortable Seating Typical Use
42″–48″4–5 peopleSmall executive office or private meeting room
54″–60″5–6 peoplePartner office, executive suite, boutique boardroom
66″–72″7–8 peopleMid-size conference room, collaborative team space

For Architects & Designers

We provide CAD drawings and shop drawings at the design phase. Room clearance, AV positioning, and base footprint can all be worked through before production begins.

Who Our Round Conference Tables Are For

Architects & Interior Designers

Round tables are often the focal point of a smaller room such as an executive office, a private lounge, a partner suite. We work through proportion, base style, and material at the design phase with 3D renderings and shop drawings as standard. Samples before production, always.

Executive Suites & Partner Offices

Round tables are a natural choice for senior leadership spaces. The geometry is collaborative by design. No head of the table means every seat carries equal weight. Sized to the room, built in the material the space calls for.

Law Firms & Professional Services

Partner conference rooms and client meeting spaces where the table needs to make an impression. Solid hardwood and walnut are frequently specified for these environments. Power and data integration available.

Hospitality & Private Clubs

Round conference tables for hotel boardrooms, private dining rooms, and member club meeting spaces. Where the table is part of the brand experience, we treat material and finish selection accordingly.

Round Conference Table Materials & Construction

We build round conference tables in solid hardwood, wood veneer, quartz, and reclaimed wood. Round tops present unique construction considerations such as grain direction, substrate stability, and edge profile all require more attention than a straight-edged rectangular top. That's work we're set up to do.

Solid hardwood is the most-specified material for executive round tables. Wood veneer allows bookmatched grain across the full face of a large round top, a visual effect that solid wood can't replicate. Quartz is available for clients who want a stone aesthetic with exceptional durability. Reclaimed wood is available subject to confirmed material availability at the quote stage.

All wood is sourced from domestic suppliers, primarily in Pennsylvania and the surrounding region. Physical samples are sent before production begins.

Material Character & Best Use
White OakTight, consistent open pore grain. Takes stain well but prized for its natural color. A versatile choice for round tops in any finish.
WalnutRich dark tone with natural warm color. One of the most-specified species for executive round tables.
Hard MapleLight and clean. Extremely durable. Works well in modern interiors and contemporary office environments.
CherryWarm mid-tone that deepens with age. Traditional feel suited to law firms and established institutions.
AshOpen grain with strong figure. Durable and cost-effective with a distinctive yellow tone.
Red OakWarmer, more traditional grain texture than white oak. A durable, low-cost option for solid wood round tops.
ReclaimedBarn wood and regionally sourced species. Each piece is unique. Confirm material availability at quote stage.
Wood VeneerBookmatched grain across the full round face — an effect not achievable in solid wood. Paired with engineered substrates for long-term stability.
QuartzStone aesthetic with exceptional durability. Available in multiple slab styles.

Custom Conference Tables Process & Logistics

A round table involves a few decisions that a rectangular one doesn't, such as diameter relative to room clearance, base style relative to the floor plan, grain orientation and substrate for the top. We work through all of that in the design phase. Here's how the full process runs.

01

Contact

We are contacted by a prospective client looking to purchase furniture. Through email or phone call we discuss the client's needs and our products.

02

Proposal

A proposal is generated covering material options, diameter, base style, lead time, and shipping. For round tables we'll also confirm room clearance and base footprint at this stage — it's easier to resolve before production than after.

03

Deposit

To initiate an order a deposit is made along with approving the proposal. This serves to book the job and starts the making process in our shop.

04

Design

Once the deposit is received our team provides 3D renderings, sketch drawings, and shop drawings for each product. These are reviewed carefully and serve to authorize the final specifications on the furniture.

05

Samples

Since colors can vary on different computer monitors we send out samples for approval. These are actual pieces of wood and material with the color and finish your furniture will have.

Step 06 — Approval

Once drawings and samples have been approved the furniture is ready for production in our Pennsylvania shop.

Common questions

If your question isn't answered here, call us directly at (484) 712-5178.

Diameter depends on seating count and room clearance. A 48″ table seats 4–5 people; a 60″ seats 6; a 72″ seats 7–8. Plan for 30–36 inches of clearance between the table edge and the wall or nearby furniture. If your seating count and room size don't align cleanly, tell us, we design to fit both.
Central pedestal bases are the most common choice for round conference tables because they keep the floor plan open and eliminate leg interference for seating. We also build with architectural steel bases, turned or tapered solid wood legs, and custom fabricated options. Base selection depends on diameter, material weight, and the aesthetic direction of the room. We'll make a recommendation at the design stage.
Yes. For larger diameters, structural engineering and substrate selection become more important and we account for this in the design phase. Very large round tops may be engineered in sections for freight and assembled on-site. If you have an unusually large round table in mind, bring it to the quote stage and we'll tell you what's achievable.
We build in solid domestic hardwood, wood veneer, quartz, and reclaimed wood. Solid hardwood is the most common choice for executive environments. Wood veneer is particularly well-suited to round tops because it allows bookmatched grain across the full face. Quartz is available for clients who want a stone look with high durability. Physical samples are sent before production.
Yes, power and data integration is available on round conference tables. Options include flush-mounted grommets, pop-up power units, and concealed cable management routed through the base. On a round top, placement is designed so that access points are evenly distributed and don't compromise the surface appearance. We coordinate with your AV and IT teams during the design phase.
Lead times vary by material and project complexity and are confirmed at the proposal stage. If your project has a fixed installation date, provide it upfront and we'll let you know at the quote stage whether the timeline is achievable. We do not take on work we cannot deliver.
Yes. CAD drawings, shop drawings, and 3D renderings are provided as part of the design phase. Material samples and finish swatches are available on request. We coordinate with GCs, AV integrators, and project managers as part of a broader build-out.

Tell us about your project.

Room dimensions, intended seating count, and any material or base direction you have in mind. If you're still deciding, that's fine — tell us what you know and we'll work through the rest together.
